Dog-Friendly Winter Adventure | Ashford, WA
Explore Mount Tahoma Trails with Your Adventure Pup
Winter in Ashford offers something special for you and your furry companion. The Mount Tahoma Trails Association (MTTA) features dog-friendly snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails, surrounded by serene snow-covered forests and incredible views of Mount Rainier. Adventure pups are welcome on the trails, but be mindful—dogs aren’t allowed inside the warming huts, so plan accordingly.
Important Note: While dogs are allowed on many of the MTTA trails, it’s important to know that only the South District trails are dog-friendly. Dogs are not permitted on trails in the North District, including those leading to Copper Creek Hut. Please plan your adventure accordingly and respect these guidelines.
During the winter season (November 1 to April 30), a Washington State Parks Sno-Park Permit is required to access the trails. You can purchase a $50 annual non-motorized Sno-Park Permit or opt for a $25 daily permit. Make sure you have your permit before heading out!
