About the location: 

This Carbon Country’s Shady Rest Bed and Breakfast is located in Carbonado at the northwest entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Guests can easily experience this side of the mountain at Mowich Lake or go off-road exploring at Evans Creek ORV in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest area. The nearest airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, just one hour’s drive from the Inn. Guests of the inn can enjoy year-round outdoor recreation. In the summer and fall, guests can drive approximately 40 minutes to the highest point of Mount Rainier accessible by vehicle at the Sunrise Visitor Center. In the winter, guests and early spring (depending on the snow levels) guests can ski at Crystal Mountain Resort and snowshoe at Mowich Lake. Hikers often enjoy exploring Spray Falls and the Carbon River. There are many opportunities for outdoor recreation, visitors will want to stay multiple nights. Area restaurants for dining can be found at the Carbonado Saloon, Crystal Mountain, and Enumclaw.

Guests at the Carbon Country’s Shady Rest Bed and Breakfast stay in one of three individually decorated rooms each with private baths. Overnight guests receive a full breakfast and the innkeepers are on-site for guest convenience. Enjoy a peaceful stay among the evergreens. After a long day of exploring the backcountry soaking in a claw foot tub is just the thing to relax. There’s also a suite with a waterfall-themed shower with beautiful stonework. Another suite offer with a two-person jetted tub, perfect for a romantic getaway. All suites have wifi. The inn was opened in 2007 and features bright, open, airy Pacific Northwest decor.
