The Storybook Cabin is a cozy little vacation rental in Ashford, Washington

Painted a cheery blue, with a scalloped roofline the humble exterior of Storybook Cabin welcomes guests. This one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit with a sofa sleeper in the living room can accommodate up to four guests, The interior features contemporary décor, a 50-inch smart TV, walls lined in pine, and a fully equipped kitchen. Area restaurants are only a 5-minute drive. For guests’ convenience, the cabin offers linens, towels, games, books, and a large DVD collection. A new hot tub was added in 2023.

In a nod to sustainability, the cabin has a live herb garden, native landscaping, a composting toilet, and energy-efficient heating/cooling.  The cabin footprint is kept small to capitalize on the forested grounds which feature a fire pit, a small deck, and a picnic table. 

Located minutes from the popular Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park guests can easily arrive at the national park early in the morning to beat the crowds. One of the most popular activities in Ashford includes visiting the national park. Mount Rainier National Park offers scenic drives, stargazing, bird watching, hiking, and seasonal activities like snowshoeing. Recycled Iron Spirits (also known as Ex Nihilo) is a local sculpture park also open year-round. At the sculpture park, you can explore a whimsical collection of sculptures made from upcycled materials. Also nearby is the local art gallery at Ashford Creek Pottery. For guests who appreciate hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing in a rugged wilderness setting the Tahoma Trails Association in Ashford offers miles of trails. About a 30-minute drive from the cabin visitors can take guided trail rides at EZ Times Outfitters in Elbe.
