Outdoor Dining in the Mt. Rainier Area
From upscale dining in the highest elevation restaurant in all of Washington state to humble roadside bar and grills, here’s a list of outdoor dining options on and around Mount Rainier.
Ashford
- Copper Creek Inn – Have your choice of two outdoor seating options, sidewalk café style dining out front, our beautiful garden seating area behind the Inn
- Rainier Basecamp Bar and Grill – Located just six miles outside of the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Grab a picnic lunch to go, or stay awhile and enjoy a hearty meal from the grill, and a refreshing drink from the tap. The park-like atmosphere has tenting, firepits, and sometimes live music.
- Trailhead Bar and Grill – Order inside and carry out to the back patio behind the restaurant. The back patio has a few tables with umbrellas.
- Wildberry Restaurant – The Taste of Two Worlds – traditional American mountain menu with authentic Sherpa Himalayan cuisine of Nepal. Dine outside in a relaxing covered space with views of a grassy lawn, trees, and Tibetan prayer flags.
Crystal Mountain
- Alpine Inn Restaurant is elegance with a view of evergreen trees and Bavarian themed inn. Located at Crystal Mountain, this charming restaurant serves gourmet pasta, seafood and steak (vegetarian entrées too). There’s a wide selection of fine wines and hand-crafted northwest brews in an old-world atmosphere. Free WIFI.
- Fireside Cantina is situated adjacent the Chinook Express quad and East Peak Plaza, the Fireside features multiple open flame fire pits, a giant patio umbrella and a new pick-up window on the side of the sundeck.
- Summit House combines incredible backdrop of Mount Rainier and surrounding Cascade mountains with locally sourced and Northwest inspired cuisine. Envisioned by Executive Chef Christian Adams.
Enumclaw
- Headworks Brewery offers craft brews and meals served up by a rotating schedule featuring popular local food trucks.
- Il Siciliano – Authentic Italian cuisine. Italian food. Family-owned. Appetizers. Soups. Salads. Pasta. Wood-fired pizza. Entrees. Desserts. House wine.
- Jackson’s Restaurant – Jackson’s is different. Really different. A truly “local” placemaking gourmet artisan pizzas, pasta, and mouthwatering specialty sandwiches, served with style, warmth, and a commitment to great service. In a world dominated by mediocre restaurant chains, fast food, and gloppy, greasy pizza pies, we are different. - Rainier Bar & Grill – two tables, four chairs in downtown historic Enumclaw. Serves wraps, burgers, steak and “pub-grub.”
- The Historic Mint – 28 Beers on Tap, fantastic food and family-friendly. Share game day with friends or a quiet evening with your bestie. Appetizers, desserts or the whole meal deal.
Eatonville
- Bruno’s has both a covered patio and seating near the parking lot adjacent a large mural.
- Chopstix has a few picnic tables outside of the restaurant on the porch across the street from the Shell gas station.
- Cruiser Cafe has a few picnic tables outside of the restaurant. On a clear day there is a view of Rainier from the picnic tables.
- Mill Haus Cider Co. is the hot destination restaurant in Eatonville. The largest outdoor dining area in town with firepits, a waterwheel, cider press, stage, and plenty of seating.
Elbe
- Mt. Rainier Railroad Dining Company – is a train themed diner with bistro tables, a bar car and outdoor seasonal beer garden.
- Pizza Express is located in a 1910 refurbished train car. This locally owned and operated restaurant offers covered outdoor seating and pizza by the slice or by the pie.
Greenwater
- Greenwater Outfitters – serves wraps, burritos, chips, sandwiches and has several picnic tables. Order at the window and carry to your tables.
- Naches Tavern – has a large outdoor dining area. Order inside and carry out.
- Wapiti Outdoors – has a small outdoor dining area. Order inside and carry out.
Mount Rainier National Park
- National Park Inn at Longmire has a covered porch. Place your order at the front desk and carry your meal out to the porch. Tables available on a first-come-first-served basis. On a clear day there’s a view of Mount Rainier from the porch.
- Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise has a small deli inside the visitor center with grab and go style items. Place your order at the register and carry it out to the picnic tables by the visitor center.
- Paradise Inn while the dining room at the historic lodge offers only indoor seating there is a small patio by the Tatoosh Cafe. Tables are first-come-first-served. Order inside at the café and carry out to a table.
- Sunrise Day Lodge (estimated to open July 8, 2022). The gift shop offers a variety of prepackaged meals, snacks, and beverages. Shop for your items, pay for them at the gift shop. Walk 2 minutes outside to the picnic area by the visitor center.
Packwood
- Blue Spruce Saloon And Diner – has a few tables outdoors on a covered porch adjacent the main road
- Cliffdroppers – has a few picnic tables adjacent the main road
- Packwood Brewing Co – has a large outdoor dining area with string lights, a grassy area, big fire pit, occasional live music. Serves street style tacos, chips and guacamole with beer and cider.
- The Mountain Goat coffee house has outdoor seating to enjoy scones, pastries, and cookies with your drinks.
- White Pass Taqueria + Taproom serves TexMex style breakfast, lunch and dinner. Has half a dozen picnic tables outside with two covered areas.
Wilkeson
- Simple Goodness Sisters Soda Shop – family-friendly large outdoor dining space with firepits and string lights. Serves a variety of paninis, cocktails, mocktails, handcrafted sodas, and ice cream treats.
