Washington Wine Express on September 9 and 10, 2017
Once at the MRRR Logging Museum, you’ll have two hours to visit sampling stations featuring many prominent Washington wineries and interact directly with the vintners and growers producing these fabulous vintages. In between tastings, cleanse your palate with a broad spectrum of epicurean delights selected and prepared just for this special event. It’s a unique culinary experience you don’t want to miss! Your fare includes all wine tastings throughout the excursion, one glass of wine of your choice served in a souvenir MRRR commemorative wine glass, live musical entertainment, a scrumptious meal at the museum, and dessert served during the train ride home. And be sure to bring your smartphone or camera to capture all the fun and beauty along the way, as well as your own smiling selfies!
Boarding times are 10:30 a.m. for the first excursion, and 2:30 p.m. for the second excursion, with all departures from the MRRR’s historic Elbe Depot. The Washington Wine Express arrives back at the Elbe Depot at 2 PM for the first excursion, and 6:00 p.m. for the second excursion. Consider extending the fun by staying overnight in the area.
Hard Cider Steam Train on September 23 – 24, 2017
Enjoy various cideries using Pacific Northwest apples across Washington state. Take an experiential journey on the Old Milwaukee Road and enjoy cider, rails, and the forests and foothills of Mt. Rainier all in one afternoon! Sample various Washington cideries and converse with cider makers on board and at our historic logging camp destination!
Board your coach from the platform at the historic Elbe Depot, and as you enjoy the ride through the Nisqually Valley and cross rivers and streams in the foothills of Mt. Rainier, you will be introduced to the cideries and enjoy a light sampling of the various beverages you can expect to learn more about at the event site. Once at the Railroad and Logging Museum, full sampling stations from cideries will be set up. Visit each of the cideries to learn how it is made. Several award-winning cideries will be represented on each trip and cidermakers will be anxious to tell you the story of their process and their business.

The Rails to Ales: Oktoberfest Express on September 30 & October 1
Taste various craft breweries using Pacific Northwest hops. Take an experiential journey on the Eastern Railway of the Milwaukee Road and enjoy beer, rails, and the forests and foothills of Mt. Rainier all in one afternoon! Sample various Washington craft beers and converse with brewers on board and at the historic logging camp destination! Select breweries from around Washington will provide beers to sample. Beers sampled may include porters, stouts, IPAs, Hefeweizens, sour ales, and witbiers.

Peanuts™ The Great Pumpkin Patch Express on October 7/8, 14/15, and 21/22
The fall is a fantastic time to ride the train. Join Snoopy, and Charlie Brown aboard The Great Pumpkin Patch Express. Passengers will ride the train and read the book ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ on their journey to the Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch, where guests are greeted by Charlie Brown and Snoopy. Family-friendly activities include face-painting, crafts, temporary tattoos, coloring pages, lawn games, PEANUTS™ gang photo ops, and trick-or-treating through a historic logging camp. Each child may also select their very own pumpkin to take home during the hour layover at the Pumpkin Patch. Children and adults are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for the trip!
