Kautz Cabin Suite

The Kautz Cabin Suite is located in a guest house with two other suites. Each suite has a separate entrance and private bathroom. The room has a comfy queen-sized bed with a log headboard, gas fireplace, private bathroom, and WiFi. It’s cozy lodging for solo travelers or couples. A short walking distance from the cabin is access to trails. The guest house has a double layer of heavy insulation in the walls to help ensure a quieter stay.

The queen-size bed has flannel sheets and a pillow-top mattress, and there is a quiet AC unit to keep you at a comfortable temperature all night long. Fire up the gas fireplace and grab a good read off the bookshelf! There is a big selection of local guidebooks and nature books so cozy up in front of the fire with a good read.

Guests will find a mini-kitchenette with the basics: Coffee maker (drip style) and grounds (bring your own grounds if you like), with sugar, creamer, and tea, as well as a microwave and small mini-fridge. There are also mugs, glasses, bowls, silverware, napkins, and a wine/bottle opener.

The bathroom features a shower stocked with top-quality Beekman 1802 shampoo, conditioner, and body wash with a wonderful cardamom/peppercorn scent. Towels, washcloths, and a hairdryer are supplied. There is no TV, but the WiFi is good enough for movie streaming, so bring along your iPad and cozy up with your favorite show!

About the Location

The Kautz Cabin Suite is part of the “Ashford Lodge” an old bed and breakfast. Ashford Lodge is located in the tiny town of Ashford only 6 miles from the Nisqually Entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. At Ashford Lodge, there is a big main house, guest house, and campground, with a shared hot tub, BBQ gazebo, and gardens. Guests have access to a shared hot tub (look for the sign-up chalkboard to reserve a time to enjoy it privately). Also on site is a gas grill and picnic table in a gazebo and a hammock in the gardens.
