History in Motion Celebrates By-Gone Locomotion In Morton On June 23 and 24, 2007< /strong>

History in Motion will showcase a revival of everything and anything that moves from classic logging locomotives to antique cars, vintage motorcycles, and hang gliders. The event will take place in Morton on June 23 and 24, 2007.< /p>

Steam train rides on classic logging locomotives, invitations for a fly-in to Strom Field, and the rolling out of antique trucks and classic cars will offer attendees a memorable fusion of history and excitement. Other activities include tours of the Morton’s 1910 Depot, Art in Motion and the production ales from the Hobo Jungle at the Roxy Theater, a Hampton Lumber Mill tour, an arts and crafts sale, and a quilt display. Certified antique appraiser, George Higby will conduct an Antique Roadshow. Hang Gliders with soar overhead. There will be a picnic in Jubilee Park, live music and activities for the whole family, as well. Old and young alike are encouraged to don vintage clothing and join the celebration.< /p>

Just 20 minutes from the Paradise entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, Morton is located at the crossroads of highways 7 and 12 the White Pass Scenic Byway. Morton is also the site of the Loggers’ Jubilee, Aug. 9 through 12, 2007. Other area attractions besides the national park include Northwest Trek, the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad and Mineral Lake.
