The 47th Annual Wilkeson Days Old Time Parade and Handcar Races
Visit the historic mining town during the annual Wilkeson Days and you’re in for a day of celebration. The small town welcomes locals and visitors for a parade, food, vendors, and a handcar race you won’t forget. The annual Wilkeson National Handcar Race celebrates railroad and coal mining history in a fun way that takes over the entire town. The parade and handcar races are a family-friendly event with kids games and live entertainment.
Vendors open at 9:00 AM
Browse a variety of booths near the historic Coke Oven Park.
Parade starts at 11:00 AM
Vintage cars, floats, and more cycle, cruise and march through the streets.
Handcar Races start at 1:00 PM
Visitors can enjoy the handcar race as spectators cheering on races from the stands or those who are 18 years or older can signup and compete. Teams of four (and someone to push the car off) race an old fashioned railroad handcar down a 400+ foot track.
