Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble to headline the second annual Rainier Music Festival August 6th

The Rainier Music Festival takes places in the picturesque town of Ashford, Washington just 7 miles from the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. Once again, the Ashford County Park is home to the festival. Visitors can expect a relaxed festival atmosphere at the amphitheater. The event is family-friendly, and dog-friendly (just make sure dogs are on a leash). A beer garden will be available for ticket holders 21 and older. Vendors will provide opportunities for shopping and refreshments. Parking is free. Bring lawn chairs or your favorite picnic blanket and get ready for a mix of soul, blues, reggae, and zydeco tunes. A total of 7 bands will preform with headliners Curley Taylor and his band, Zydeco Trouble. 


Local accommodations

Ashford, Washington has a variety of places to stay. Inns like Whittaker’s Bunkhouse, Nisqually Lodge, Paradise Village are all in Ashford outside of the national park. Located inside Mount Rainier National Park are the National Park Inn, and Paradise Inn. The Hobo Inn (made entirely out of converted cabooses) is 10 miles away in Elbe, Washington. The aforementioned accommodations all accept single night reservations. Want a cabin or vacation rental? Tickets are on sale now

An all day pass for the Rainier Music Festival is $40 per person. Tickets available via Brown Paper Tickets and are $42.99 with the service fee. The concert is located 80 miles from Seattle, 53 miles from Tacoma, WA. The festival will start at Noon and end at approximately 9:30 PM.


Food trucks will be present. Local dining available pre/post concert at nearby eateries like Copper Creek Inn, Rainier BaseCamp Bar & Grill, National Park Inn, Wildberry Restaurant, Paradise Village Bakery and Restaurant, and the Trailhead Bar & Grill. Click here for a dining directory. 


Local Insider Tip


SR706 is the road leading to the Ashford County Park. This road is well traveled especially during the month of August. Visitors should expect congestion and allow plenty of time to arrive for the concert.
