A 50-mile relay from the iconic Mount Rainier to Tacoma’s waterfront!

Is it an endurance race for a long-distance runner or a relay race? Choose your own adventure this June. 

In the Rainier to Ruston runners journey from the magnificent base of Mount Rainier to the incredible Tacoma waterfront. Commemorate the history of the old railroad by running through bell standards in each town on the way to the sea. Through gorgeous forests, historic Washington towns, and cities, runners, complete the route along a scenic waterfront park with a view of Mt. Rainier. The downhill and flat course is a runner’s dream. A portion of the registration benefits the trails.

Relay teams start near the Carbon River entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park and finish at Marine Park on Tacoma’s Ruston Way. Pass through deep forests, run alongside rushing rivers and streams, and through historic towns. It uses the paved Foothills Trail to the extent possible the course is approximately (41%) and roads (23%), sidewalks (7%), and rough trails (29%).
