Crystal Sky Camp

2nd Season of Crystal Sky Camp to Open July 1st

Crystal Mountain Resort, in partnership with outdoor hospitality leader, Under Canvas, announces the second annual reopening of private mountaintop retreat, Crystal Sky Camp.

July 1st will mark the opening date for Sky Camp’s summer season, extending through September 18th, 2022. Located at 6,000 feet, nestled in Campbell Basin, Crystal Sky Camp offers a remote camping experience bringing the comforts of home to the outdoors with 25 dispersed safari-style canvas tents. While designed to provide an immersive mountain experience, Crystal Sky Camp delivers the amenities and offerings of a first-class resort, making it the perfect destination for group events, alpine weddings, and corporate retreats.

“Going into the 2nd summer of operations at Crystal Sky Camp, we are beyond excited to once again welcome guests to this unique destination. The Sky Camp experience is truly one-of-a-kind and accessing the camp is an adventure in and of itself. We’ve embraced the fact that Sky Camp is for those looking to step outside their comfort zone and experience the possibilities of what glamping at 6,000 ft has to offer,” said Stephen Remillard, Director of Sales at Crystal Mountain.

Crystal Sky Camp is accessed via two scenic chairlift rides surrounded by alpine views and wildflowers.

From arrival to departure, guests are in for an adventure. The camp is designed for group buyout experiences and can accommodate 40-50 guests. Guests have the option to choose between a king premium tent, a king standard, a tent with three twin beds, or a tent with two twin beds. The king premium option includes a porch and stairs to access the tent. The king standard is situated on an elevated platform but does not include a porch.  Each tent is equipped with wood-burning stoves, WiFi, wood floors, indoor/outdoor seating, and more. Private bathhouses with hot showers, flushing toilets, and sinks are located steps away from each tent, providing the comforts of an all-inclusive resort in a unique, elevated alpine setting. Guests can expect to receive services and amenities including but not limited to:

  • Daily housekeeping
  • Access to Campbell Basin Lodge
  • Transportation to and from the base area
  • Nightly campfires and s’mores
  • Access to high-powered stargazing telescope
  • Add-on adventure activities
  • Family-friendly lawn games & activities in the lodge

In addition to daily amenities, guests will also have the option to book adventure activities such as guided foraging, and fly-fishing.

Hiking at Crystal MountainThese upgraded adventures are designed to provide the opportunity to further experience the expansive terrain, explore hidden alpine lakes, local wildlife, learn new outdoor skills, and connect with the pristine nature surrounding the camp. More details and information on activities and adventure add-ons can be found on the Crystal Sky Camp website.

“It’s a unique and unforgettable experience. There are endless adventure activities to find during the day, and everywhere you look there’s another photo-op. We love bringing families together and connecting them with the outdoors to experience their first alpine camping trip, first sunset, or first stargazing. Guests have told me they’ve never seen so many stars before visiting Sky Camp! We’re excited and proud to offer an extraordinary glamping experience in the heart of the PNW and are looking forward to our second annual season,” said Nancy Richards, Director of Crystal Sky Camp.

This summer, Sky Camp is also hosting two experiential events with the option for individual families and smaller groups to book a tent.

July 29-31, “Flavors of the Northwest” will showcase the fresh flavors and local food specialties of the region. Guests will be able to enjoy this multi-day culinary event with world-famous Cascadian peaks as the backdrop. Adventure activities and other included amenities will still be offered. August 12-14, Crystal Sky Camp invites the guests to book a tent for the Perseid Meteor Shower viewing. This spectacular annual meteor shower is one of the brightest of the year, and Sky Camp offers an up-close, front row seat. With the expansive views of surrounding peaks, wide open sky, and no light pollution, the Perseid Meteor Shower is one of the most coveted events of the year for Sky Camp guests. For more information on how to book an experiential event, please visit the Crystal Sky Camp events website.

Crystal Sky Camp is designed to bring groups together to connect with nature, each other, and inspire a life-long passion for the outdoors.

The team at Crystal Mountain and Under Canvas are looking forward to the second annual launch of this unique, mountain-top retreat. The season will run from July 1st to September 18th.
