Ski season is just around the corner but in the meantime, Crystal Mountain will open the Mt. Rainier Gondola this Saturday and Sunday, November 23rd and 24th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Guests can take a round-trip ride to enjoy the spectacular views and access to the Summit House, Washington’s highest elevation restaurant. A special early season lunch menu will be offered. The Crystal Mountain retail store will also be open with free gift-wrapping for all purchases at Right Angle Sports. “This is a neat opportunity to get your holiday shopping done in a stress-free environment while also enjoying some family time in the outdoors,” said Tiana Anderson, Marketing Director.
All Ikon Pass holders can ride the gondola for free this weekend and take advantage of pass holder discounts on retail and dining.
To celebrate the start of a new season Crystal will be giving away $5,000 in prizes this Saturday and Sunday in random gondola prize cabins. The first 50 Ikon Pass holders to load the gondola each day will also receive a Crystal tote bag with gifts inside.
Looking ahead, with natural snow in next week’s forecast and temperatures in the mid-twenties allowing for optimal snow-making conditions, Crystal Mountain is poised to open for skiing and snowboarding as close to Thanksgiving as possible. Regardless of snowfall Crystal Mountain also plans to operate the Mt. Rainier Gondola for scenic rides Friday through Sunday, November 29th to December 1st.
