Crystal Mountain announces the addition of their first fleet of universal electric vehicle chargers to the mountain.
The charging stations now operational for guest use are free, and easy to use. Access is available on a first come, first serve basis through the summer season. Crystal plans to implement a reservation system for the charging stations once the winter season begins.
Located on the Crystal Mountain Boulevard just past upper C lot, the EV chargers are level 2 Flo CoRe+, with a charging range of 1.2kW to 7.2kW. The average time it takes a Tesla to recharge with 7.2kW is up to 8 hours. The charging stations have the capacity for two vehicles to be plugged in at once.
“This first phase of EV chargers is just the beginning. We are excited to add more in the future” said Cliff Newman, Electrician at Crystal Mountain.
Last winter, Crystal implemented their first free shuttle service along with their first 100% electric, zero-emissions coach as part of their free transportation system. They are excited to be moving forward with the installation of EV chargers as they focus on reducing the amount of traffic on the roads and limiting their carbon footprint.
More information about the EV chargers can be found on the Crystal Mountain website.
