100 years is a reason to cheer! The official birthday of our National Park Service is August 25, but this is so big we’re celebrating all year long. Now is the time to visit our parks. As Stephen Mather, first NPS Director stated, “A visit inspires love of country; begets contentment; engenders pride of possession; contains the antidote for national restlessness. … He is a better citizen with a keener appreciation of the privilege of living here who has toured the national parks.”

Celebrate this momentus occasion with a visit to Mt. Rainier!  Choose a trail from our Centennial Hike of the Week Series, follow our blog for updates on centennial park events and get connected to this special area by viewing our People of Rainier video series.  It’s a year-long party and there are endless opportunities for you to be part of this special celebration!
