Can you access the Grove of the Patriarchs in the winter?
The access road, Highway 123, is closed at the park boundary. The only way to access the Grove is to either walk up the closed road to the Stevens Canyon entrance or take the Silver Falls Trail from Ohanapecosh to the falls. Until the spring opening, that’s the only access.
Ranger services are not offered during the winter season in this area. Please keep in mind that during the winter the seasons the restrooms and picnic areas are closed. Should you choose to visit this area please practice “leave no trace” principles. Pack it in, pack it out. Please protect the natural beauty of this area and plan ahead to recreate responsibly.
